Installing DeviceHub in PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, PitneyShip Enterprise, PitneyShip Cube, or ShipAccel
Products affected: PitneyShip®, PitneyShip® Pro, PitneyShip® Enterprise, PitneyShip™ Cube, ShipAccel
DeviceHub is a program that connects printers and scales to PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, PitneyShip Enterprise, or ShipAccel. DeviceHub is required to connect a scale and to print stamp rolls and envelopes.

Quick steps
- In PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, PitneyShip Enterprise, or ShipAccel, go to Settings > My Devices and select Download DeviceHub Installer.
- Save and open the file.
- Click through the installation screens.
- If you're using Safari or you see "Certificate-based activation is required for DeviceHub", skip to Activating DeviceHub using the certificate below.
Prerequisites
- Prior to installing DeviceHub, it is recommended that you download and install the latest drivers for any printers that will be connecting through DeviceHub from the printer manufacturer’s website.
- For Windows, Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 must be installed. For information, see: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2.
- Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 will be installed as part of the DeviceHub installation.

Detailed steps: Windows
- In PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, PitneyShip Enterprise, or ShipAccel, select Settings > My Devices.
- Select Download DeviceHub Installer.
Note: If the button is disabled, it means that your administrator has not given you access to download DeviceHub. Contact your administrator for assistance. - Save the file.
- Open the downloaded file.
Note: If a message appears during the installation process stating that DeviceHub is already installed, click OK to remove the previous version, then click Uninstall. Once the process is complete, click Finish. - If needed, select your Language.
- If you need to change the installation folder, click Browse, select the location, and click OK.
- Select Install.
- When the installation is complete, sign in:
- Select Sign in Here to sign in in the DeviceHub window, or
- Select Sign in with Browser to sign in in a new browser tab.
- Once you see "DeviceHub registered successfully!", close that browser tab and minimize your browser window.
- On the Devices tab, you should see your connected devices.
- If you are using the Safari web browser, or if you see the message "Certificate-based activation is required for DeviceHub", skip to the Activating DeviceHub using the certificate section below.
- Go back to PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, PitneyShip Enterprise, or ShipAccel and select Settings > My Devices again.
- You should now see the printers and scales that are connected to your computer listed on the My Devices screen. If you do not, click the Refresh button. If there are other shared DeviceHubs on your network, you may see them as well.
Enable the DeviceHub system tray icon
In order to better see DeviceHub errors and status messages, we recommend enabling the DeviceHub icon.
- Right-click on the Windows Start button and select Settings.
- Select Personalization.
- Select Taskbar on the left side.
- Scroll down to Notification Area and click on Select which icons appear on the taskbar.
- Find DeviceHub in the list and click on the Off slider to change it to On.
Detailed steps: Mac
- In PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, PitneyShip Enterprise, or ShipAccel, select Settings > My Devices.
- Select Download DeviceHub Installer.
Note: If the button is disabled, it means that your administrator has not given you access to download DeviceHub. Contact your administrator for assistance. - Save the file.
- Open the downloaded file.
- Select Continue.
- Select Install.
- If prompted for your Mac password, enter it and select Install Software.
- Wait while the software is installed.
- When the installation is complete, select Close.
- If you are using the Safari web browser, or if you see the message "Certificate-based activation is required for DeviceHub", skip to the Activating DeviceHub using the certificate section below.
- Go back to PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, PitneyShip Enterprise, or ShipAccel and select Settings > My Devices again.
- You should now see the printers and scales that are connected to your computer listed on the My Devices screen. If you do not, click the Refresh button. If there are other shared DeviceHubs on your network, you may see them as well.
- (Optional) Delete the DeviceHub installer file using Move to Trash.
Activating DeviceHub using the certificate
If you use the Safari browser, or if you see the message "Certificate-based activation is required for DeviceHub", you need to follow these steps to activate DeviceHub after installing it.
- Right-click on the DH DeviceHub icon in the Windows system tray (small icons near the clock) or Mac OS menu bar and select About.
- Select the copy icon next to the DeviceHub Serial Number.
- In PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, PitneyShip Enterprise, or ShipAccel, go to Settings > My Devices.
- Select Activate DeviceHub.
- In the Enter DeviceHub Serial Number window, click in the Serial Number field and paste the serial number you copied.
- Select Continue.
- When the You're almost done message appears, click Done.
- Right-click on the DeviceHub icon in the Windows system tray (small icons near the clock) or Mac OS menu bar and select Sync.
- When you see the message "DeviceHub registered and activated!", click OK.
- You should now see the printers and scales that are connected to your computer listed on the My Devices screen. If you do not, click the Refresh button. If there are other shared DeviceHubs on your network, you may see them as well.
