Using delivery time service level agreements (SLAs) in PitneyTrack Enterprise

You can specify expected service level agreement (SLA) delivery time for specific carrier services. This information can be viewed in the Package Activity screen, and can be printed on delivery labels.

You can specify expected service level agreement (SLA) delivery time for specific carrier services. This information can be viewed on the Receive and Deliver screens and printed on delivery labels. On the Package Activity screen, you can see whether packages are being delivered on time.

To set this up, you need to do the following:

Creating the carrier

To change the services for a system carrier, you first need to duplicate it, make your changes on the duplicated copy, then disable the original.

To add services for a custom carrier, you first need to add it as a new custom carrier, then add its services.

Adding carrier services and delivery times

Once you've created a custom carrier, you can add carrier services and expected delivery times to it.

  1. Select Settings > Inbound Carriers.
  2. If necessary, select your Site.
  3. Select the arrow next to the carrier you wish to edit to expand it.

  4. Select the Carrier Services tab.
  5. Select Add Carrier Service.
  6. Enter the Service Name.
  7. Enter the service values to be decoded from the barcode in the Values Decoded from Barcode field, separated by commas. This information comes from the carriers.
  8. Under Set Delivery Time, specify the expected delivery time for the service per the service level agreement (SLA).
  9. Select Save.

Adding expected delivery times to the Receive and Deliver screens

Once expected delivery time SLAs are configured for carrier services, you can make them visible by adding the Carrier Service field to the Receive, Edit, Deliver, and Pouch screens. This is optional. See:

Adding expected delivery times to printed labels

If you want the expected delivery times to be printed on delivery labels, you can do so on the Label Options screen. Add Deliver By to show the expected delivery date and time. Add Carrier Service to show the name of the carrier service. This is optional. See:

Viewing delivery time SLA performance

To asses SLA performance, you can view the expected and actual delivery times on the Package Activity screen. Any of the following columns can be added: Target Delivery, Actual Delivery, Paused, and Delayed. See:
