Creating a Rate Group or Rate Shop Group in PitneyShip Enterprise

There are two different versions of PitneyShip Enterprise, the Office version and the Fulfillment version. In the Office version, this feature is called Rate Shop Groups. In the Fulfillment version, it is called Rate Groups.

You can create rate shop groups to group carrier services together so that they can be selected when shipping. Rate shop groups can also be used to restrict which carrier services are available to users in a particular location, division, or enterprise.

There are two different versions of PitneyShip Enterprise, the Office version and the Warehouse fulfillment version. In the Office version, this feature is called Rate Shop Groups. In the Warehouse fulfillment version, it is called Rate Groups.

Before you begin:

These procedures differ depending upon which version of PitneyShip Enterprise you have.

If your main screen looks like this, then you have the Office version of PitneyShip Enterprise.If your main screen says New Shipment at the top and looks like this, then you have the Warehouse fulfillment version of PitneyShip Enterprise.

Office version of PitneyShip Enterprise

If you are using the Office version of PitneyShip Enterprise, follow these steps. If you are using the Warehouse fulfillment version of PitneyShip Enterprise, see the steps below.

  1. Select Settings > Business Rules.
  2. Select Add Ruleset.
  3. From the Type menu, select Rate Shop Group.
  4. Enter a Name, Code, and Description for the rule.
  5. Under Assign To Page / Form, select which pages you want this group to appear on. The rate shop group will be listed on the carrier menu of the selected screens.
    Note: The Advance Shipping option applies the rate shop group to orders that are processed through the Epic or McKesson pharmaceutical connectors. If you do not use those connectors, ignore this option.
  6. Select who you wish this rate group to be available to. If you select Division or Location, choose the division(s) or location(s) you want to include.
    • Enterprise:  Everyone in your organization
    • Division: Only users in specific divisions
    • Location: Only users in specific locations
  7. Select Continue.
  8. On this screen you will select the services that you wish to allow the selected enterprise, divisions, or locations to access.
    1. From the Type menu, select Service.
    2. From the Carrier/Account menu, select the carrier account whose services you wish to allow.
    3. From the Service Level menu, select the service you wish to allow.
  9. If you wish to allow additional services under this same rule, select Save and Add Another Service and repeat step 8 for each additional service.
  10. When finished adding the services you wish to allow for this group, select Save and Close.

Warehouse fulfillment version of PitneyShip Enterprise

If you are using the Warehouse fulfillment version of PitneyShip Enterprise, follow these steps. If you are using the Office version of PitneyShip Enterprise, see the steps above.

  1. Select Settings > Carriers.
  2. Select the Rate Groups tab.
  3. Select Add Rate Group.
  4. Enter a Display Nickname for the group.
  5. (Optional) To enter your own ID for this rate group, select Custom Rate Group ID. If you do not enter an ID, the system will create one for you.
  6. Click on Audience (Visibility). Select who you wish this rate group to be available to.
    • My Enterprise: Everyone in your organization
    • Role: All users with a specific role
    • My Location: Your location or other selected locations. To include locations other than your own, select the Other Locations slider to change it from OFF to ON, then select the desired locations from the menu.
  7. Select the Origin Country of the carrier account you want to apply this rate group to.
  8. Select the Carrier Account whose services you wish to allow.
  9. From the Available list, select the service(s) you wish to add and click the single arrow pointing to the right to add it to the Selected list.
    • To add all of the services in that carrier account, select the double arrow pointing to the right.
    • To remove services from the Selected list, use the arrows pointing to the left.
  10. When finished adding the services you wish to allow for this group, select Done.
