Installing the Remote Services Rename patch for Business Manager

This is a mandatory patch for Business Manager to enhance security by disabling on-meter refill services for legacy meters.  These services are only needed in certain configurations where you are initiating refills at the meter and using Business Manager as a pass-through to the internet.  In most cases they are not needed.

Before you begin:

In order to install the patch, you must be signed into a Windows user account that has Administrator rights. If you do not have administrator rights, contact your IT department for assistance.

1. Download the patch.
2. Right-click on the downloaded file and extract the two files to a folder.
3. Open BMFundManagementRename.exe.
4. If you receive a prompt that says "Windows protected your PC", that means that the file was not extracted first. To continue, click on More info > Run anyway.
   
5. Select Rename Funds Management Services.

6. Click the X in the upper right corner to close the window.
