Changing the partnership name of a Tracking Assistant in Windows Mobile Device Center

Learn how to change the partnership name of a Tracking Assistant used with SendSuite Tracking or SendSuite Arrival in Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC).

The partnership name refers to the unique identifier of a Tracking Assistant when it synchronizes its data with the software.

To change a partnership name in Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC):
  1. If the Tracking Assistant is seated in the USB cradle, remove it.
  2. If WMDC is not open, select Start > All Programs > Windows Mobile Device Center.
  3. In WMDC, select Mobile Device Settings > End Partnerships.
  4. Highlight the device you want to rename and select End partnership.
  5. Select Yes to confirm.
  6. Put the Tracking Assistant back into the cradle and allow WMDC to detect it.
  7. In WMDC, select Set Up Your Device.
  8. A window will pop up asking what kinds of items you want to sync. Uncheck all items and select Next.
  9. Enter the new name and select Set Up.
  10. When the setup process completes, the new device name will appear in the bottom left of WMDC.
