Performing database maintenance and backup in SendSuite Live

SendSuite Live uses Microsoft SQL Server as the database engine. It is recommended to perform regular backup and maintenance on the SendSuite Live database to ensure optimum performance. This maintenance includes backing up the database and backing up and truncating the transaction log.

SendSuite Live uses Microsoft SQL Server as the database engine. It is recommended to perform regular backup and maintenance on the SendSuite Live database to ensure optimum performance. This maintenance includes backing up the database and backing up and truncating the transaction log.

Important:; You should always back up SendSuite Live before installing updates.

Stop Internet Information Services (IIS)

  1. Select the Windows Start button.
  2. In the search box, type IIS.
  3. Right-click on Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager and select Run as administrator.
  4. Select the server name located in the Connections box.
  5. In the actions area, to the right of the server name, select stop.

Stop SendSuite Live services

  1. Select the Windows Start button.
  2. Type services.msc in the search box.
  3. Right-click on Services.exe and select Run as administrator.
  4. Scroll down to the SendSuite Live services.
  5. Right-click and select Stop on any running services.

Back up SendSuite Live file system

  1. Right-click on the Windows Start button and select Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Locate your SendSuite Live folder (by default it is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\SendSuite Live\).
  3. Right-click on the folder and select Copy.
  4. Right-click in a blank area of the Windows Explorer active screen and select Paste.

Note: The SendSuite Live backup folder can be pasted anywhere. It is recommended to rename the copied folder with the date and version of SendSuite Live when it was copied.

Back up the SendSuite Live database

  1. Select Windows Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2008 > SQL Server Management Studio.
  2. Sign in with the SQL administrator SA credentials.
  3. Expand databases.
  4. Right-click on SendSuite Live database.
  5. Select Tasks
  6. Select Backup.
  7. Select Browse, or manually enter the location and a name for the new backup file.
  8. Select OK.
  9. Select OK again.

Back up and truncate the transaction log
