Installing DeviceHub for PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, PitneyShip Enterprise, or PitneyShip Cube

DeviceHub is a program that connects printers and scales to PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro,, and PitneyShip Enterprise.

DeviceHub is a program that connects printers and scales to PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise. DeviceHub is required to connect a scale to PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise. DeviceHub is also required for printing stamp rolls and envelopes.

The features and options you see may vary depending upon your role and subscription. If you have any questions regarding your permissions, please contact your administrator.

Prerequisites

  • Prior to installing DeviceHub, it is recommended that you download and install the latest drivers for any printers that will be connecting through DeviceHub from the printer manufacturer’s website.
  • For Windows, Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 must be installed. For information, see: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2.
  • Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 will be installed as part of the DeviceHub installation.
  • Note: DeviceHub does not support silent installation using .exe or .msi.

DeviceHub is supported on:

Windows 10 or higher

  1. In PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise, select Settings > My Devices.
  2. Select Download DeviceHub Installer.

    Note: If the button is disabled, it means that your administrator has not given you access to download DeviceHub. Contact your administrator for assistance.
  3. Save the file.
  4. Open the downloaded file.
  5. Select Install.

  6. Select Finish.

  7. Go back to PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise and select Settings > My Devices again.
  8. Select Activate DeviceHub.
  9. When the activation is complete, close the browser tab to return to PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise.
  10. You should now see the printers and scales that are connected to your computer.If you do not, click the Refresh button. If there are other shared DeviceHubs on your network, you may see them as well.

In order to better see DeviceHub errors and status messages, we recommend enabling the DeviceHub icon.

  1. Right-click on the Windows Start button and select Settings.
  2. Select Personalization.
  3. Select Taskbar on the left side.
  4. Scroll down to Notification Area and click on Select which icons appear on the taskbar.
  5. Find DeviceHub in the list and click on the Off slider to change it to On.

Mac OS 11 (Big Sur) or higher

  1. In PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise, select Settings > My Devices.
  2. Select Download DeviceHub Installer.

    Note: If the button is disabled, it means that your administrator has not given you access to download DeviceHub. Contact your administrator for assistance.
  3. Save the file.
  4. Open the downloaded file.
  5. Select Continue.

  7. If prompted for your Mac password, enter it and select Install Software.
  8. Wait while the software is installed.
  9. When the installation is complete, select Close.

  10. Go back to PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise and select Settings > My Devices again.
  11. Select Activate DeviceHub.
  12. When the activation is complete, close the browser tab to return to PitneyShip, PitneyShip Pro, or PitneyShip Enterprise.
  13. You should now see the printers and scales that are connected to your computer. If you do not, click the Refresh button. If there are other shared DeviceHubs on your network, you may see them as well.
  14. (Optional) Delete the installer file using Move to Trash.
