Setting up a UPS account in PitneyShip or PitneyShip Pro

In order to ship with UPS, you first need to set up your UPS account in PitneyShip or PitneyShip Pro.

In order to ship with UPS, you first need to set up your UPS account in PitneyShip or PitneyShip Pro.

The features and options you see may vary depending upon your role and subscription. If you have any questions regarding your permissions, please contact your administrator.

Pitney Bowes UPS Rate Account

To create a Pitney Bowes UPS Rate account and receive pre-negotiated rate discounts:

  1. Select Settings > Carriers.
  2. Select Add Carrier.
  3. In the Carrier Display Name field, enter a name for the account.
  4. From the Select Carrier menu, select UPS.
  5. Under Access Level, select which divisions and locations will have access to this account:
    • Enterprise: All divisions and locations
    • Division: Select the desired divisions
    • Location: Select the desired locations
  6. Enter your name and address.
  7. Select the I Accept the UPS Technology Agreement box.
  8. Select Add Carrier.

Non-Pitney Bowes UPS Rate Account

If you need to add an account that is not a Pitney Bowes UPS Rate Account and does not receive Pitney Bowes's pre-negotiated rate discounts, follow these steps:

  1. Select Settings > Carriers.
  2. Select Add Carrier.
  3. In the Carrier Display Name field, enter a name for the account.
  4. From the Select Carrier menu, select UPS.
  5. Under Access Level, select which divisions and locations will have access to this account:
    • Enterprise: All divisions and locations
    • Division: Select the desired divisions
    • Location: Select the desired locations
  6. Select Enter my UPS Account.

    Note: WorldWide Express invoices cannot be used to link your UPS account. Please use the account information and invoice provided by UPS directly.
  7. In the UPS Account Number field, enter your 6-digit UPS account number. The account number is case-sensitive.
  8. (Optional) Enter a nickname for this account in the UPS Account Nickname field.
  9. If your UPS account is less than 90 days old (if not, skip to step 10):
    1. Select the UPS Account is newer than 90 days box.
    2. Enter your contact information exactly as it appears on your UPS account. Sign in to your UPS account to verify the information if necessary.
      • Important: All information is case-sensitive and must match your UPS account information exactly. You may be locked out of your account after a number of unsuccessful attempts.
      • Do not include the +4 with the ZIP Code (5-digit ZIP only).
      • If your UPS invoice contains a P.O. Box mailing address, do not enter it. If the invoice mailing address doesn't work and there is a different address in the upper left corner of your invoice, try that address instead.
  10. If you have shipped with UPS in the past 90 days, get your most recent UPS invoice. Sign in to your UPS account to view it if necessary.
    1. Enter the UPS Invoice Number, UPS Invoice Date, Invoice Amount, and Control ID from your UPS invoice. This is case-sensitive. If the Control ID is ****, contact UPS to get this information.
      • Do not add a comma in the Invoice Amount (for example, enter $1,000.00 as 1000.00).
    2. Enter your name and address exactly as they appear on your invoice.
      • Important: All information is case-sensitive and must match your UPS account information exactly. You may be locked out of your account after a number of unsuccessful attempts.
      • Do not include the +4 with the ZIP Code (5-digit ZIP only).
  11. Select the I Accept UPS Technology Agreement box.
  12. Select Add Carrier.
