"Alert Cannot Delete Carrier" message in PitneyShip Pro and PitneyShip Enterprise

If the message "Alert Cannot Delete Carrier it has referenced in another module" appears, the carrier account is assigned to another user and needs to be deleted.

When trying to delete any carrier like UPS, FedEx, or DHL in PitneyShip Pro or PitneyShip Enterprise, the error "Alert Cannot Delete Carrier it has referenced in another module" appears.


If the carrier being deleted is assigned to a specific user, this error will appear.


Remove the carrier from any associated users.

The features and options you see may vary depending on your role and subscription. If you have any questions regarding your permissions, please contact your administrator.

  1. Select Settings > Users.
  2. Locate the user you wish to edit using the search box and filters at the top.
  3. Select the Edit User icon next to the user you wish to edit.
  4. Scroll down in the Edit User window until Carrier Account(s) is located.
  5. Click on the Carrier Account(s) dropdown and uncheck the box next to the carrier you are trying to delete.
  6. Click Save and Close.
  7. Return to Settings > Carriers and try to delete the carrier again.

Please note that the carrier may be associated with multiple users, and the above steps may need to be repeated with more than one user.
