PitneyAnalytics Release Notes for version 1.117.0 (November 21, 2025)

Products affected: PitneyAnalytics®

What's New

Enhancements to Shipment Detail Report

The Shipment Detail Report has been updated to include new columns that show the lowest available rate and related service details. These additions help users identify cost-saving opportunities and make informed shipping decisions. The new columns are:

  • Lowest Rate Used
  • Lowest Base Amount
  • Lowest Carrier Name
  • Lowest Carrier Service

For all shipment transactions, the lowest rate and its details are automatically populated by the backend rating engine. However, Media Mail (MM) and Library Mail (LM) services are excluded from lowest rate recommendations because they apply only to specific parcel contents. If the lowest rate corresponds to MM or LM, these columns will remain blank, and the system will recommend the next lowest eligible service instead.

The lowest rate service value is also included in the Potential Savings calculation shown in both the Shipment Detail Report and the Savings Advisor Report. A backend control ensures that only clients with the Rate Reporting feature enabled can view these new columns. Clients without this feature will not see or have access to the lowest rate information.

Latest Updates

Enhancements to Refund Status and Surcharge Reporting

The Refund Status column in the Shipment Detail Report previously displayed a value only when a refund was approved by the carrier. When the status was Submitted or Denied, the column remained blank, limiting visibility into refund progress. To address this, we’ve introduced new refund statuses and an additional column for surcharge refunds to improve reporting accuracy and financial transparency.

The Refund Status column now displays three values: Submitted (refund submitted but not yet approved), Denied (refund denied by the carrier), and Approved (refund approved). These values are consistent with the Refundable Label Report and appear in all export formats (Excel and CSV) as well as scheduled reports sent via SFTP or email.

A new column, Addl. Surcharge Refund, has been added to track surcharge refunds for voided or refunded labels. This column appears after the Refund Amount column and is included in all exports and scheduled reports. It will only display a value when a label is voided or refunded.

Finally, the Total Chargeback Amount formula has been updated to include surcharge refund adjustments. The new formula is:

Total Chargeback Amount = (Total Amount + Addl. Surcharges Amount + Carrier Adjustment Amount) − (Refund Amount + Addl. Surcharge Refund).

This updated calculation is reflected in the Shipment Detail Report and all corresponding outputs.

Enhanced Excel report exports

This enhancement improves analytics and reporting for clients transitioning from SendPro Enterprise to PitneyAnalytics. The goal is to make Excel exports more usable and complete, enabling clients to better analyze reports for chargebacks and other business needs.

Previously, Excel exports were basic copies of underlying CSV files and lacked important meta-information such as report titles, filters, and layout details. This limited their usefulness for business analysis. The enhancement introduces structured sections and optional inclusion of report details so that exported Excel files closely mirror on-screen reports and provide full context.

Key improvements include:

  • Report Title: Normal reports display the title as shown in the UI tab, while favorite or scheduled reports display the saved name defined by the client.
  • Additional Metadata: Includes export date and time (formatted per settings) and the name of the user generating the report.
  • Header Information: Shows applied filters, divisions, locations, ship date range, and selected view options.
  • Data Table Section: Contains the actual report data in a structured format.

A new checkbox option, Include Report Information, has been added under both Export and Schedule/Send menus. By default, this option is unchecked. When enabled, the exported Excel file includes all meta-information; when disabled, it contains only the data. This setting also applies to favorite reports.

Introduction of Custom Fields in Shipping

This enhancement introduces a flexible and configurable framework for Custom Fields within the Shipping section. The goal is to enable easy field management that can later be extended to other forms in the application with minimal development effort. Adding custom fields on the shipping side will improve analytical capabilities across multiple reports and dashboards.

In the Spend Summary Report, all newly created custom fields will appear in the report output and be correctly populated. Spend data and summary calculations will accurately reflect any segmentation or grouping based on these custom field values.

In the Shipment Detail Report, the new custom fields will be visible as additional columns, with data values aligned to the relevant shipment records.

For Global Filters under the Sending tab, these custom fields will automatically become available as selectable filters. When applied, they will correctly refine and update displayed data across all relevant reports and dashboards.
