Cleaning the printhead on the DM60

Clean the printhead to resolve poor print quality.

Watch the video or follow the instructions below to clean the printhead in your DM60.

  1. Lift then close the top cover.

  2. When Do you want to install new ink? appears, press Enter/yes.
  3. Re-open the top cover and wait until the ink assembly moves to the front of the franking machine.
  4. Press the lock button on the green ink cartridge cover to release and remove the ink cartridge, then set the ink cartridge aside.

  5. Squeeze the latches holding the printhead cover in place and lift the printhead cover. Lift the print head out of the franking machine.

  6. Gently clean the print head with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  7. Put the printhead back into the franking machine.Close the print head cover, making sure it clicks into place.

  8. Replace the ink cartridge, making sure the circle on the bottom of the cartridge faces you. Close the ink cartridge cover, making sure it clicks into place.

  9. When IMPORTANT: Is ink installed? appears, press Enter/yes.
  10. When is test pattern OK? appears, do one of the following:
    1. ​If the test pattern is good (contains no broken lines or smeared ink), press Enter/yes.

    2. If the test pattern is not good, run the maintenance function.

  11. Press Review down to Clean Printer Nozzles? appears.
  12. Press Enter/yes.
  13. After the franking machine cleans the printer nozzles, follow the prompts to run another test pattern. You can run this function up to three times to improve poor print quality.
