"Preset parameters are now invalid" message on the DM110i, DM160i and DM220i

Reseat the scale and select a new class to resolve the Preset parameters are now invalid message.

The message Preset parameters are now invalid appears when you turn the franking machine on or when selecting a preset.


This message appears when the franking machine cannot load the Normal Preset. This the default setting.

It can relate to a scale issue or it might occur after a Royal Mail rate change. For example, Royal Mail may no longer use a class.


Solution 1: Reseat the scale

  1. Three different options appear. Select Exit. You return to the Home screen.
  2. Remove the scale from the top of the franking machine.
  3. Replace the scale, ensuring that you fit it properly and it is level.
  4. Press Normal Preset.

If the scale works correctly but the error reoccurs, it may be that one of the settings of the Normal Preset used is no longer available or you need to select it again. An example of the settings is the class, Ad (Envelope Message) or a Text Message.

Select a new class and, if required, an Envelope Message then re-save the Normal Preset.
