"Invalid Preset" message on the DM300M-DM475

Check the scale is weighing correctly and ensure the correct postal class is used to resolve the Invalid Preset message.

Issue

The message Invalid Preset appears when turning the franking machine on or when loading a preset.

Cause

This message appears when the franking machine cannot load the Normal Preset. This is the franking machine's default settings.

The message can relate to a scale issue. It also might occur after a Royal Mail rate change. An example is that Royal Mail no longer use a postal class which you use in a preset..

Resolution

  1. Select Quit Presets. You return to the Home screen.
  2. Remove the scale from the top of the franking machine.
  3. Replace the scale. Ensure you fit it properly and it is level.
  4. Press Normal Preset.

If the scale weighs correctly but the error reoccurs the problem may be that one of the settings in the Normal Preset is no longer available. Select a new class and re-save the Normal Preset.
