Credits for unused postage when returning a meter

Learn how Pitney Bowes credits unused postage to your account after you return a cancelled franking machine or when you receive a replacement franking machine.

Credits when a franking machine is replaced

If a new or replacement franking machine is being sent to you, unused postage from your old machine is transferred to your Pitney Bowes Purchase Power or PrePay account within 5 - 10 working days of the meter return.

Credits when a franking machine is cancelled 

If you have cancelled your contract and your account balance is zero, the refund of your unused postage will be provided from the Royal Mail via a cheque within 6 weeks.

Confirm Unused Postage was Credited to Your Account 

  1. Sign in to the Pitney Bowes Your Account portal.
  2. Select Invoices for Purchase Power or PrePay Accounts from Your Financials.
  3. Select the Transactions tab to view transactions posted to the account. 
    •  Unused postage credits will show as Unused Postage Re-Credit within the transactions tab.
