Installing the Smart Access Management Desktop

 Before you begin
Before you begin installing your new Smart Access Management product, use the below graphic to identify parts of your equipment.
- Tablet screen.
 - Tablet cover.
 - Tablet lock.
 
 Open the box and unpack the device
- Remove all elements from the box and discard any packing tape or material.
 - Remove your QL-820NWB label printer and power cord from the box. The USB lead and two pin power cord are not required.
 - Discard any packaging.
 
If you are installing a QL-820NWB label printer on its own without a Smart Access Management Desktop solution, please go to Installing the QL-820NWB label printer.
If you are installing a QL-820NWB label printer alongside a new Smart Access Management Desktop product then please follow the instructions below.
 Installing the Tablet
- Unlock the tablet lock on the back, using the small circular key.
 - Slide the tablet cover upwards and pull forwards to remove it.
 - Slide the tablet into the tablet holder and plug it into the right-angled USB cable.
 - Press and hold the tablet power button to turn on the tablet. Wait for the tablet to start up.
- Tablet power button.
 
 - Replace the tablet cover into its base and slide downwards to secure it.
 - Lock the tablet.
 - Fit the USB power lead into the supplied plug and connect to mains power.
 
 Registering the tablet in Smart Access Management
- On your computer, sign in to the Smart Access Management website.
 - Select Settings > Product Registration.
 - Click Add Product.
 - Select the location where the tablet will be used from the menu.
 - Add a name for the tablet in the Display Name field.
 - Add the serial number of the tablet. This can be located on the rear of the tablet or on the side of the box.
A8 tablet - Click Add.
 
 Setting the language
- On the tablet, tap Start.
 - Tap the desired language.
 - Tap Next.
 - Tap the desired country or region, then Restart.
 
 Agreeing to the privacy policy and connecting to Wi-Fi
- Tap I agree to all.
 - Tap Agree.
 - Tap OK.
 - Tap the network you want to connect to.
 - Enter the Wi-Fi password.
 - Tap Connect.
 - Tap Next.
 - Tap Continue.
 
 Pairing the tablet app with Smart Access Management
- On your computer, sign in to the Smart Access Management website.
 - Select Settings > Product Registration.
 - Click the + icon next to your tablet.
 - A QR code appears on your computer. This code lasts five minutes.
 - Launch the Kiosk app on the tablet.
 - Tap Scan QR code to activate the camera.
 - Tap Allow.
 - Tap While using the app.
 - Tap Allow.
 - Scan the QR code from your computer. Registration Complete appears briefly.
 - If necessary, review and accept the terms and conditions.
 
 Installing the QL-820NWB label printer
- Connect the power supply and cable to the label printer.
 - Hold the label printer by the front, and firmly lift the top cover.
 - Remove the coin cell battery compartment tab.
 - Place the label roll into the roll spool guide.
- Fully insert the roll spool arm into the roll spool guide.
 - Make sure the stabilizer (1) slides into the notch of the printer.
 
 - Thread the label roll through the label printer.
 - Close the top cover.
 - Press and hold the power button to turn the printer on. The label roll aligns automatically.
 - Press OK at the Set Language and clock prompt.
 - Select your language. Confirm with OK.
 - Set the date by using the up and down arrows. Confirm with OK.
 - Set the clock by using the up and down arrows. Confirm with OK.
 
Turning Template mode off
- Press Menu.
 - Press the up or down arrows until Template Settings appears. Confirm with OK.
 - Template Mode appears. Press OK.
 - Use the up or down arrows to select Off. You return to the Home screen.
 
Configuring Auto power off
- Press Menu.
 - Press the up or down arrows until Settings appears. Confirm with OK.
 - Press the up or down arrows until Auto Power Off appears. Confirm with OK.
 - Press the up or down arrows until Adapter appears. Confirm with OK.
 - Press the up or down arrows until Off appears. Confirm with OK.
 
Configuring Bluetooth
- Press Menu.
 - Press the up or down arrows until Bluetooth appears. Confirm with OK.
 - Press the up or down arrows until Automatic Reconnection appears. Confirm with OK.
 - Press the up or down arrows until On appears. Confirm with OK.
 
 Turning on Bluetooth on the QL-820NWB label printer
- Press Menu.
 - Press the up or down button to locate the Bluetooth menu.
 - Press OK.
 - Press the up or down button to select Bluetooth On/Off, then press OK.
 - Press the up or down button to select On, then press OK.
 - Press the back button to return to the Home screen.
 
 Pairing your QL-820NWB label printer with the Smart Access Management tablet
- Tap the i button.
 - Tap Settings.
 - Tap Bluetooth.
 - Tap the QL820NWBxxxx option.
 - Tap Pair.
 - Tap the Home button to display the About Kiosk window.
 - Tap OK. You return to the Home screen.
 
 Adding a Visitor Site
- You need to sign into the Smart Access Management web portal order to use the system.
 - Go to the Smart Access Management website.
 - Enter your email address and password.
 - Select Sign In.
 - Settings > Access Sites.
 - Select the location from the Location menu.
 - Click Add Visitor Site.
 - Select a location from the Location / Site field.
 - Expand the Assign Kiosk Tablets menu.
 - Select the desired tablet tick box.
 - Scroll and click Save.
 
You can now begin to use your Smart Access Management solution to print visitor badges.
