Reserving a locker for an exchange in PitneyLockers

As a mailroom administrator or locker operator, you can reserve a locker for a package exchange.

As a mailroom administrator or locker operator, you can reserve a locker for a package exchange.

The work flow is similar to reserving a locker for delivery, but includes both drop off and pick up recipients.

Setting when the One Time PIN expires

The One Time PIN determines how long the recipient has to complete the exchange.

  1. Click Settings > General Settings (under Lockers).

  2. Set the One Time PIN Expiration to your desired setting.

Reserving a locker for the exchange

  1. Select Lockers > Reserve Locker.

  2. Select Exchange.

  3. Enter the Package Details.

    1. Scan or enter the tracking number of the package, or click + to generate a unique tracking number.
    2. Enter the Drop Off information for the person who is returning the item.
      1. Select the Package Type, either Individual or Department.
      2. Select the Recipient or Department.
        • If the Package Type is Individual, enter the Recipient.
          • The recipient must already be in the system's contact list.
          • Once you enter the first 3 letters of the recipient's name, the system displays all of the names and addresses beginning with those letters.
          • Select the recipient.
        • If the Package Type is Department, select a Department from the list.
    3. Enter the Pick Up information for the person who is receiving the item.
      1. Select the Package Type, either Individual or Department.
      2. Select the Recipient or Department.
        • If the Package Type is Individual, enter the Recipient.
          • The recipient must already be in the system's contact list.
          • Once you enter the first 3 letters of the recipient's name, the system displays all of the names and addresses beginning with those letters.
          • Select the recipient.
        • If the Package Type is Department, select a Department from the list.
  4. Enter the Locker Details.

    1. From the Location menu, select the location.
    2. From the Locker Bank menu, select the locker bank. Only locker banks assigned to you are shown.
    3. If the recipient needs a wheelchair-accessible locker (35 - 123 cm from the floor), select Requires Accessible Locker.
    4. From the Locker Size menu, select small, medium or large.
  5. Select Reserve.

Dropping off the package

  1. Tap the Log in icon on the Home screen. Follow the prompts to scan your code or enter your login details.

  2. Scan or enter the tracking number of the package.

  3. Place the package in the locker and close the door. Return to the kiosk.
  4. Tap the Log in icon on the Home screen, then tap Log out.

Exchanging the package

  1. Tap Collect an Item. The screen you see depends on the local configuration of your lockers.
  2. Follow the prompts to tap your ID, scan your code, or tap Enter Code Manually.
    • If you choose to enter the pickup code, use the keyboard to enter the pickup code. Tap Submit.
  3. Tap Yes if you have the package to be exchanged.
  4. Remove the package being collected and then replace it with the package being returned. If the package being returned does not fit, return to the kiosk, tap Does Not Fit and then select a different sized locker. Close the locker door.
  5. Tap Done. You return to the Home screen.
