Starting on 1 May 2025, new rules called The Windsor Framework will be in place for sending goods from Great Britain to Northern Ireland. If you send large letters and parcels you will need to give extra information, depending on whether the item is being sent Business to Business (B2B) or Business to Consumer (B2C).

Whether you are sending the item to a business or a consumer you will need to know if the recipient uses a export license or not.

If you are sending the item to a business, you will need to know:

  • Your HS Tariff code.
  • Your Economic Operators Registration and Identification number (EORI number).
  • The recipient's EORI number.
  • Your UK Internal Market Scheme authorisation number (UKMIS number) or the recipient's UKMIS number.

Further information can be found using the Royal Mail and UK Government websites.

Important: Ensure you use the correct information to help prevent delays, customs charges or your mail being returned to you.
