Important change in how you access FedEx® rates and services
What You Need to Know:
To protect your account security, FedEx is changing how shipping software, like PitneyShip® and ShipAccel, connects to their systems to use FedEx rates and print shipping labels. FedEx implemented an OAuth 2.0 security model to enhance overall security for customers, reduce fraud and provide enhanced API capabilities.
This FedEx update requires you to use OAuth to authorize your Pitney Bowes software to perform some actions, like accessing FedEx rates or printing FedEx labels.
What You Need to Do Now:
To continue shipping in compliance and access to special rates with FedEx, as well as to avoid delays, you must verify your FedEx shipping account by completing a multi-factor authentication within your Pitney Bowes software if you have not already done so. There are various authentication methods to choose from: Email, Text Message, Phone Call, or entering Invoice Details related to the FedEx account profile. To prepare for verification, please have access to the email or phone number registered with the FedEx Billing Profile or a FedEx invoice from within the last 90 days.
Steps to authenticate your FedEx:
- Log into Pitney Bowes shipping solution
- Go to Carriers under the Settings icon
- Click “Authenticate”
- Follow authentication prompts to select authentication method.
Note – authentication must be completed from the moment the authentication process begins. - Once account has been authenticated, the “FedEx Account Authenticated” confirmation message will appear
