Clear "Inspection Due" or "Connection Required" messages on your meter

USPS® regulations require that your meter be inspected periodically. This inspection occurs automatically when you connect your meter to the Pitney Bowes Data Center to refill postage or perform a balance inquiry. If no connection is made within a 90 day period, your meter displays the messages "Inspection Due", and then "Inspection Required" - or- "Connection Required". You must clear this message before you can operate your meter.

NOTE: If your meter shows, Data Upload Requiredgo here for steps to clear the message.

alert You must connect your meter and perform a balance inquiry (there is no need to refill postage). Select your meter for steps to clear the message:

If an inspection is not performed within 30 days of a message, the meter will display: 'Connection Required', or 'Inspection Required', or 'Connect Before the 6th'. You must follow the instructions for your meter, listed above, to prevent the machine from being locked out (i.e., unable to run mail).
