Issue

When attempting to to ship to El Salvador using the DHL API, an error message is displayed. Depending on the shipment, the messages may vary.

One example error:

Dutiable Segment Declared Amount Warning Note! Shipment exceeded value limits for consignee country may require pre-approval and added transit time. Please contact your customer service representative.

Cause

As of January 16, 2016, DHL requires requires suburb or subdivision information be provided when shipping to countries that do not use ZIP codes.

Resolution

The DHL API will validate the address to ensure that the shipment includes a valid suburb/subdivision. The available options can be found on their website.

This suburb/subdivision information can be entered into the State/Provence/Other field on any of the SendSuite® Live ship or mailroom screens.
