Resolve Export Information Code is missing or invalid SHM5-A when shipping international with UPS Consolidated in SendSuite Live

When trying to ship international using UPS Consolidated in SendSuite® Live, the following error is displayed:
The following error has occurred, please correct and try again: Package #1: Export Information Code is missing or invalid SHM5-A


The Export Information Code is not specified in shipping administrator. 

Note: The Export Information Code defines the type of export. This is only used for shipments that originate in the US. 


To resolve this issue:
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select SendSuite Live Shipping Administrator.
  3. Sign in.
  4. Select Carriers.
  5. Select International Defaults.
  6. Scroll to Export Codes.
  7. Select permanent.
  8. Under the Export Codes Description, select the ellipsis ().
  9. Select the export code description from the UPS Export Information Codes list.
If the issue is not resolved, contact customer support.
