How to assign a static IP address to a handheld Tracking Assistant used with SendSuite Arrival

Learn how to assign a static IP address to a handheld Tracking Assistant models T741, T742, T743, T745, T746, J594, and T762.

To assign a static IP address on models T741, T742, T743, T745, and T746:
  1. Obtain the IP address, Subnet mask, and Default Gateway from your IT department.
  2. At the bottom of the Tracking Assistant screen, select the Tools menu > Exit to OS.
  3. Select Yes.
  4. Select the Windows Start button.
  5. Select Settings ConnectionsWi-Fi.
  6. Select SMSC9500 from the adapter list.
  7. Select Use specific IP address.
  8. Enter the IP address, Subnet mask, and Default Gateway provided by your IT department.
  9. Select OK to save.
  10. Select OK to close the Network Adapters window.
  11. Select the X to close the settings window.
  12. Select Start TAPlus.
  13. Sign in if prompted.
  14. Sync the Tracking Assistant on the 4-bay cradle.
To assign a static IP address on models J594 and T762:
  1. Obtain the IP address, Subnet mask, and Default Gateway from your IT department.
  2. Select Tools Control PanelNetwork and Dial-up Connections.
  3. Place the Tracking Assistant in a slot on the 4-bay cradle. A connection icon should appear named SMSC9500.
  4. Hold the stylus down on the SMSC9500 icon until a pop-up menu appears.
  5. Select Properties from the menu.
  6. Select Specify an IP address.
  7. Enter the IP address, Subnet mask, and Default Gateway provided by your IT department.
  8. Select OK to save.
  9. Select the X in the top right corner to close the Connections window.
  10. Select the X again to close the Control Panel window.
  11. Sync the Tracking Assistant on the 4-bay cradle.
