Frequently Asked Questions
What happens after October 1, 2022?
Pitney Bowes is no longer supporting analog phone connections to any postage meter. That means that essential tasks such as adding postage, updating meter software and postal rates will no longer be available without a digital / internet connection. You must act now if you want to avoid business disruptions. Click above to learn more about our digitally connected mailing devices or contact your Account Representative.
What is an IMI Compliant Postage Meter?
The USPS® is adopting a new IMI (Intelligent Mail Indicia) standard for postage evidencing systems. They will decertify all postage meters that use IBI technology. If your postage meter is still using an analog (phone) connection, your meter will need to be replaced by June 2024. All of Pitney Bowes newer technologies are IMI compliant.
Many clients are now switching to our IMI-compliant SendPro® technology to take advantage of the new features and benefits SendPro® provides. Not only are SendPro devices digitally connected, but you will also become compliant with the USPS® standards for mailing systems.
Was there a way to connect my current meter digitally?
